Ararat Farm is a family farm located in the mountains of Lee County, Virginia and dedicated to raising the healthiest, best-tasting grass-fed beef, woodland pastured pork, grass-finished bison, GMO- and soy-free chicken you can find! We practice holistic management so we can better steward all life on our farm, from the microbes under the soil to the animals eating the grass.

Our cattle and bison are intensively rotated through the pastures to ensure they always have access to premium grass and forbs and to allow plenty of regrowth time for the grass.

Our pigs are rotated through a combination of pasture and woods to allow them to forage to the fullness of the ability that God created them with.

Our broiler chickens are rotated daily through our fields to provide them with a fresh salad bar; they are supplemented with a GMO- and soy-free feed.

We have been proudly providing hormone- and antibiotic-free meats to customers for 10 years now. We sell the beef in bulk (quarter, halves, and whole) two times a year (spring and fall). We sell the pork by halves and whole in the summer (to take advantage of the grasses) and the winter (to take advantage of the fall acorn crop). We offer select cuts of beef, bison and whole chickens directly off our website. We use a local processor to butcher the meat, so it is frozen hard, labeled, and vacuum-packed when you get it.

We welcome our customers to come visit the farm and see how their food is raised. Please contact us to get more information about ordering or about our farm.

Autumn Grove Farm is better than organic. Our beef cattle and heritage breed turkeys free-range on 90 acres of pasture land without the use of any biosolid fertilization, nor do the animals receive any growth hormones, steroids, or unnecessary antibiotics. The turkey grain supplement is custom blended and several of the ingredients are organic certified. Both cattle and turkeys have 24 hour access to clean water supplied directly from underground wells. Our ponds and creeks are kept animal-free to ensure and promote healthy water.

We practice pasture rotation, keeping the pastures in good condition for grazing as well nutrient value. This also allows the land to absorb the benefits of the natural animal waste fertilizer without over saturating the land and causing waste runoff to contaminate natural water supplies. The cattle and turkeys receive plenty of vitamin D direct from nature's sunshine, and they enjoy clean air and all-day snacking on fresh green salad.

We encourage everyone to educate themselves as to the true definition of organic. We are not certified organic because the term "organic" has—in our opinion—been diluted. For instance, current organic certification allows animals to be raised in cages with limited access to true free-range pasture grazing and to receive a limited amount of sunshine. We do use many organic practices such natural fly control through the use of natural fly traps, muscovy ducks, and fly parasites.

Our beef and turkey are sold locally in central Virginia. Please visit out website for more information.

At Beahm Family Farm, we strive to be a simple path to healthy meat for your family. Full of Omega-3's and CLA's, our rich and flavorful grassfed/grassfinished beef and nitrate- and preservative-free pastured pork are naturally raised in the mountains of Virginia. Our farming family of seven loves interacting with nature and farming in a way that honors the land, improves our health, and helps our neighbors.

In the beautiful mountains of Rappahannock county in Sperryville, VA you can view up close how we care for our animals: no antibiotics, hormones, or pesticides are used. Our cattle thrive off of grass and their meat is leaner and free from harmful chemicals and toxins. Our pigs love rooting in the woods and pasture we provide and eat a natural diet supplemented with some non-GMO grain. We use a local, USDA-inspected butcher and our meat is vacuum sealed and frozen upon pick-up or delivery.

We have simplified the process of getting healthy meat directly into the hands of customers. Our website includes an online order form, a page clarifying our holistic farming practices, a price list, and availability list. You can accomplish your health goals and buy local at the same time. Pick-up is here at our farm, where you can see some of our animals in action and get to know us! We offer delivery to some nearby counties as well. Contact us to see if we can deliver to your area.

There are multiple options for both beef and pork that can meet any family's needs and help bring healthy meals again to the family table. Half a beef and half a pig shares are the most economical, but we also offer as small as 30-pound shares that can easily fit in most people's refrigerator freezers.

Beatrix Farm raises pastured poultry, free-range turkeys and ducks, forested pork and grass-fed beef in Toms Brook, VA and serves the Shenandoah Valley and Northern VA regions with drops in Front Royal and Gainesville, as well as on-farm sales.

Our poultry (chicken, turkey and duck) is raised in clean, bright, open-air brooders for their fragile first few weeks and then transferred to pasture where they are kept in movable day-range shelters fully open to pasture. They have sunshine, protection from the elements, and fresh pasture every day. They are fed a non-medicated, hormone-free, non-GMO grain in addition to the grass and bugs they forage.

Our pigs are rotated through the forest. They love the ample shade and the leaves of saplings as well as all the produce we can get them. They forage for acorns and grubs and graze on the edge of the forest. They also are fed a vegetarian, non-medicated, non-GMO grain supplement.

Our beef is raised on our pastures and finished out on grass or non-GMO grain if the customer desires. We do not use antibiotics or routine medications on our animals; we keep them healthy through providing proper care and feeds appropriate to the species.

Berriedale Farms is located in the Cowpasture River Valley of Virginia.

Nelson Hoy and Lizzie Biggs are conservationists and how we manage the farm's forests and grasslands, river and drafts are governed by a progressive conservation easement held by The Nature Conservancy. Nelson and Lizzie have made life-long commitments to preserve the unique grass fed genetics of heritage Red Poll cattle and to breed critically rare Suffolk draft horses. We endeavor to raise the healthiest and the most flavorful, tender and juicy grass-fed and -finished beef anywhere east of the Mississippi River.

  • Red Poll cattle at Berriedale Farms are raised on native grasses, legumes and forbs.
  • Berriedale allows its cattle the time, space and peacefulness necessary to live into full maturity.
  • We do not rush our cattle to market and sacrifice beef quality for the economy of throughput.
  • Berriedale does not use growth hormones, prophylactic antibiotics or insecticide implants.
  • Nelson and Lizzie ensure that our Red Poll cattle have free access to cool, clear and water.
  • Red Poll cattle at Berriedale Farms have free-choice access to essential minerals and salt.
  • We do not use herd dogs, electric cattle prods or separate individuals from their herd mates.
  • Berriedale Farms patronizes a certified humane meat processing plant.
  • Veterinary care includes vaccinations, antibiotics, surgeries and fly control measures.

Berriedale Farms, Nelson and Lizzie serve health-conscious families that value environmentally-sound farm practices and who choose to patronize a small family farm in rural Appalachia. We harvest ten (10) beeves each year and that's it. Nelson and Lizzie enjoy an extended "family" relationship with about 200 households, most located within 200-odd miles. Many families with children visit Berriedale Farms and stay in our Cabin on the Cowpasture.

The Chapel Hill Farm, near Winchester, VA, turns back the history book to the way beef is supposed to taste. Chapel Hill Randall Linebacks live very much as they would have hundreds of years ago. Ranging free on the grasslands of historic Chapel Hill Farm and drinking only limestone springwater, the Randall Linebacks, America's ancient and rarest cattle, provide the discriminating and health-conscious gourmet the finest beef in the world.

Several hundred years ago, American farmers created the Randall Lineback through mixing European breeds to form a distinct blend that would naturally withstand the special rigors of the New World and that would provide meat, dairy products, and oxen. These animals were the ideal breed for subsistence farming in America. Randall beef was on America's table before feedlots, before antibiotics, and before growth hormones. Because of their heritage, Randall Linebacks have finely grained meat with little intermuscular fat. Add to this the fact that they are grassfed and the result is meat that has an intense clean taste and is much better for you than conventional breeds of beef.

You are saving the endangered Randall Lineback breed when you eat Chapel Hill Randall Lineback rose-veal and beef by thus encouraging producers to raise more of these rare cattle. In addition, you have the pleasure of tasting a natural beef which has not been commercially available for more than a hundred years. Beef sides cut to order, USDA inspected, available from the farm; separate cuts available at Salamander Market, Middleburg, VA.

Davis Creek Farm is a small family farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains between Charlottesville and Lynchburg. Since 2001, we have raised heritage breed Red Poll beef cattle, older breeds of laying hens (eggs), as well as pasture-raised broiler chickens. (As of 2014, we no longer produce broiler chickens.)

We also produce smaller quantities of fruits and vegetables. Unlike most grocery store produce, however, we do not rely on CAFO fertilizer. Rather, our animals feed on our produce and in turn fertilize it, creating a perfect cycle. We not only provide a physical alternative to factory farming by raising animals solely on pasture, but more importantly, we seek to honor the life that feeds us and our community. We recognize that our animals and plants teach and sustain us, and we are humbly grateful to them. All plants and animals are loved and thanked throughout their lives for their sacred contribution to the whole.

Our fruits and vegetables receive only organic fertilizers from our animals. Our animals' diet consists of grass, certified organic alfalfa, sea kelp, natural minerals, and hay in winter. We use a very small-scale, family-run processor dedicated to humane treatment of the animals. Unlike store-bought beef, they dry-age the meat.

Our beef, eggs, and produce are not only good for you, but customers say, "you can taste the love." Local chef Rachel Willis described our beef as "absolutely the best-tasting grass-fed beef I've ever had."

Please see our website for basic information. We welcome visitors!

Day Spring Farm is a family farm that works together raising pasture-fed, all-natural animals with sustainable practices. We raise grass fed/finished lamb and beef, pasture-raised pork and poultry (eggs, chicken and turkey), and fresh milk from our Jersey cows, along with vegetables and herbal products. Full Diet CSA available, and other CSA options. Please see website for details.

Our meats are naturally raised and grass-fed the way God designed them, with no growth hormones, stimulants, or antibiotics. The animals are raised on pasture, walking over acres of land, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air, foraging naturally like animals were created to do. Raising animals in their natural setting creates meat that is more healthy for you and your family, as well as being more humane for the animal. Sustainable agriculture also ensures that our children and grandchildren will have good farmland left to raise food for their family and friends.

In 2005 we started raising animals for meat to have a clean source of happy, healthy food for our family. In 2006 we were blessed with enough products to start sharing with our friends. From there our business has spread by word of mouth. We thank God and our customers who have helped us grow into a sustainable business.

We hope you will join us in our quest to promote and enjoy healthy, nourishing foods. Our farm store is open by appointment only. We offer tours and we are happy to teach customers about how we care for our animals.

Our cows are raised on quality pastures from birth to slaughter without the use of hormones or antibiotics. Every consideration is given to keeping these cows healthy and in a low stress environment. Our pastures are naturally managed by rotational grazing, mowing and fertilizing with manures and compost.

Bruce's background in horticulture aids in maintaining quality pasture and diversified plants for grazing and Katherine's career as a large animal veterinarian gives her the knowledge to make decisions regarding the care of our cows.

Our beef is available by the quarter steer as well as family packs which include 25 pounds of mixed cuts. We also sell individual steaks, roasts, ground beef as well as sausages, hot dogs and beef sticks. In addition, we keep pastured hens for egg production, produce our own naturally grown hay and sell vegetables at local farmer's markets. We also offer board for lay-up and retired horses.

Four Corners Farm is a multi-generational, family-friendly farm that practices sustainable, chemical-free agriculture, supplying clean food for our local area. 4Farthings offers raw goat milk herdshares, pastured duck and chicken eggs, and occasionally raw honey and pastured meats (goat, chickens and pigs).

Our birds range free on our organically managed pastures, protected by our livestock guardian dogs. They receive locally milled grain as needed.

Our purebred Nubian goats are rotationally grazed on diverse pasture, moving onto new forage weekly. Does in milk receive very small quantities of locally milled grain and non-GMO alfalfa to support production and healthy body weight. When we have meat goats, we don't feed the MEAT goats any grain. Meat poultry is fed similarly to our laying birds. Pigs are kept on pasture and supplemented with small amounts of fodder (sprouted grain) as neccessary. Our bees are treatment-free.

We also make soaps and lotions from our goat's milk – completely free of artificial colors, artificial scents, gluten, nuts, and petroleum products.

We are conveniently located to Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Radford, a mere fifteen minutes from Virginia Tech campus. Our eggs are also carried by Annie Kay's Main Street Market and Eats Natural Foods.

Frog Eye Vineyard is small family farm and winery in the Pleasant Valley of Washington County, Maryland. We sell pork, honey, and wine. We create products that promote the health and wellbeing of our animals, land, and customers.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality meat raised in the most natural, humane, and healthy environment possible, while connecting the consumer to the farmer, so that they know and trust the story behind their food.

Our pasture-raised pigs live in groups of five with more than two acres per group to graze, sunbathe, root through the dirt, and wallow in their self-made mud holes. They eat milk, fruit, and what they find on pasture. We use no corn, soy, antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides, or hormones. The result is happy pigs and healthier, flavorful meat.

We feed our pigs in a way that reduces the amount of polyunsaturated fats (PUFA) in the meat. Unlike cows and other ruminant animals, pigs are what they eat. The fat composition of pork is completely in our control. Modern feedlots, and even many small farms, feed pigs corn and soy, which are high in PUFA.

The amount of PUFA in the American diet has skyrocketed in recent decades. The evidence that excess PUFA is a major contributor to modern diseases continues to accumulate. These oils accumulate in pork if you feed it to the animals, and they also accumulate in humans.

Glen Eco Farm is a small, diversified farm, committed to sustainable agricultural principles. We produce a variety of fresh vegetables in season and market them at a local farmers' market, directly to customers who come to the farm, and also through a small CSA which we launched in 1998.

We maintain a small flock of pastured laying hens from which we sell eggs during the farmers' market season and year-round at the farm. We offer optional egg shares to our CSA customers during the CSA season and collaborate with a nearby pastured broiler producer to sell some of his product to our CSA patrons. During the winter months our eggs can be bought at several retail outlets in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Once a year, usually in the fall, we have older spent hens that we offer for sale to customers who want to use them as stewing meat or as feed for pets. We prefer to sell them live at a fair price.

We have recently sold most of our beef herd and are no longer offering beef products either by the cut or by the side.

Good Plains Farm is a small farm located in Timberville, Virginia dedicated to the practice of regenerative agriculture. We are learning to be better stewards of the land by focusing on the health of the soil, plants, and animals, which translates into healthy consumers! Returning to our ancestral roots, soil, and the "Plains" of the Valley as 7th and 8th generation of "good" farmers, we hope to provide a high-quality food source to local families and continue to expand our offerings in the future.

We currently raise a small herd of 100% grassfed and finished pure Devon and Devon/Angus cross beef. Our grass-fed Devon cattle are well loved and cared for. Along with using soil-building rotational grazing practices across our land and daily moves to fresh grass, they are given a free-choice mineral mix, kelp, and natural trace mineral salt.

Grass-fed and finished beef is available for custom processing at various times throughout the year, and by the individual cut. We are building an on-farm store to allow customers to stop in and shop.

We also have a flock of pasture-raised hens. They are a diverse mix of heritage breeds and crosses/hybrids and produce a rainbow of colorful pastured eggs. Our hens are 100% on pasture in a mobile coop that is moved frequently to fresh pasture. They also receive a high quality (non-medicated), locally milled, non-GMO and soy-free feed.

Eggs are available anytime at our farm in the fridge. We accept cash/coin, check, Venmo and Paypal.

Call/text, email, or visit our website for more information.

Gryffon's Aerie is run by Collins & Ramona Huff and their two children in Western Albemarle County, nestled at the base of the Shenandoah National Park. We raise American Milking Devon and Beef Devon cattle and Tamworth pigs, and Karakul sheep. We have worked diligently over the years to breed one of the largest purebred American Milking Devon herds in the United States. Leading experts in the beef and cattle industry consider our genetics to be superior for grass finished beef.

Our goal is to produce the finest grass-fed beef and natural pork, which is why we chose heritage breeds. We feel that heritage breeds are best suited to grass feeding because that was their original diet and their genetics have remained unaltered.

Our cattle are raised on lush pastures from birth to finish. They do not receive hormones, unnecessary antibiotics, or grain which may contain animal by-products. We do not use herbicides or pesticides on our pastures. The cattle are rotated on a daily basis to new pastures and are followed by other livestock to further enhance the soils. In the winter cattle are moved to alpine meadows at the back of the farm that are stockpiled with cool season grasses and legumes.

Our natural pork are all free-range. The Tamworth pigs are known as the "Irish grazers." Most of their diet is made up of grazing high quality grasses and foraging for nuts and berries in the woods. We never put rings in their snouts. This is cruel and inhumane—a pig's nature is to root. These pigs are friendly, intelligent, highly vocal and take particular delight in a good belly rub. They are the "personalities of the barnyard." We supply several other pork producers with young pigs for their natural programs. We have over twenty breeding sows and two different lines of boars.

Our animals are never separated from their mothers; natural weaning is paramount. Although it may slow breeding production slightly, we feel that it makes for a healthier, happier livestock. The animals are not just our livelihood, they are our companions and our responsibility. It is our mission to raise and harvest them in a stress-free and respectful environment.

All meat is processed at USDA facilities that meet our strict humane slaughtering guidelines. Nothing is wasted. Bones are used to make stocks and demi-glace, the hides are tanned, and wool is spun into yarns. It is all part of our mission, and that of the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy, to protect the genetic diversity and integrity of heritage livestock.

We encourage you to come to the farm to purchase your products, we offer a truly unique farm experience. Located just 2 miles north of White Hall only 15 minutes west of Charlottesville. There are many orchards and vineyards in this area that are open to the public.

Orders are picked up, fresh, at the farm on processing day or at the Harrisonburg Farmers Market the following morning. We do not freeze birds or ship out of state.

Our small flocks graze fresh pasture. Our lambs are not just "finished" on grass—they are fed hay only when snow cover prevents access to the ground.

Respect for all creation—air, animal, mineral, soil, vegetation, water, etc.—as well as a commitment to helping people reconnect with their food supply, guide our efforts. We put quality ahead of profit and look to nature as our guide to animal husbandry.

Hickory Hill Farm offers pastured Poultry, pastured Eggs, pastured Lamb and a pastoral setting for your family to enjoy some time outdoors. Come to pick up healthy clean food for your family, stay for a visit and enjoy some food for the soul! An easy drive from Richmond and Hampton Roads.

We are a grass-based regenerative farm, and all of our animals are moved frequently (sometimes multiple times a day!) or free ranged to give regular access to fresh pasture and the best nutrition. In brooders and winter housing, we bring fresh greens to the animals and use deep bedding and compost to keep everyone healthy. Feeds are locally milled, non-GMO. We garden organically and mostly no-till, using inputs like waste wood chips from local arborists and composted manure from neighboring farms to build fertility in our soils. This diverts materials that would otherwise go to the landfill, and turns "waste" into valuable nutrients.

As a new farm, we are investing in livestock now that will build sustainability into our farm. Chicks are not vaccinated, debeaked, or fed medicated feeds. We have heritage breed roasting chickens available in addition to the more common Cornish cross, which saves male chicks from being disposed of at the hatchery. Throughout our farm, we are planting berry patches, fruit trees, asparagus beds, and other vegetation that will feed our family and yours for decades to come. We value producing food that honors the value of each life, and it feels good to feed wholesome clean meats and veggies to our children. We are excited to offer that same nourishing food to our community!

Hollin Farms is a three-generation family farm in Fauquier County, Virginia, about 45 minutes from the Washington DC/ Virginia beltway.

Our "Natural Angus Baby Beef" comes from yearling steers and bulls that are about 800 pounds as compared to industrial feedlot steers which weigh about 1200 pounds. Angus is the name of the breed a black English breed renowned for its beef quality.

"Natural Beef" is from animals that have received no antibiotics in their feed and have no growth implants. These yearling beefs are slaughtered at 800–900 pounds, which is 300–400 pounds less than industrially raised cattle. Because they are younger, the beef is generally more tender and leaner.

Price includes slaughter and vacuum/freeze packing. Sold in quarter, side, or whole units only. Customer picks up at Gore Custom Meats in Stephens City, Virginia.

Honey Brook Farms is a multi-generation family run farm located on the beautiful piedmont of Culpeper, VA. As our family came to understand how nutritionally deficient, chemically full, and genetically modified the mainstream food supply had become, we decided to establish a farm to supply our family and community with sustainably grown products using organic and holistic methods as stewards of God's beautiful creation.

  • 100% Grass Fed dairy operation offering Raw Milk shares from our 100% A2/A2 Jersey herd. Our dairy is one of very few in the country that keeps their cows on chemical free pasture 365 days a year with no grain supplements.
  • 100% Grass Fed and Finished Beef and Lamb
  • Pasture/Forest Raised Non-GMO Pork – We farrow pigs that are a cross between Tamworth and Gloucestershire Old Spot.
  • Pasture Raised Chicken, Turkey, and Eggs – Our birds are constantly on grass and processed on farm in bleach-free water.
  • The feed we supplement our pigs and poultry with: We used to use Non-GMO feed until we learned that Non-GMO feed is often sprayed with chemicals. We considered Organic feed but learned it is seldom tested after being grown. Finally, we found a feed source that is tested and guaranteed to be GMO-Free, Pesticide-Free, Herbicide-Free, Non-Medicated, and USA Produced. We were thrilled.
  • Raw Honey: Hives are never treated, not even with organic fumigants or chemicals.
  • Beyond Organic, Certified Naturally Grown Produce: No pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides.

J&L Green Farm produces 100% Grass Fed Beef, Forest-Raised Pork, Pasture-Raised Chicken and Turkey.

Our farm is one of the largest pasture-based farrow-to-finish farms in the state of Virginia. Our pigs lead a stress-free life and are raised together from infancy. They are bred carefully to accentuate traits that are highly compatible with their natural environment. Our pigs are fed a natural, sustainable diet of discarded apples from local orchards (August to April), discarded peanuts from regional peanut mills, and GMO-free feed.

Our Grass Fed Beef is pasture-raised with rotational grazing, which means the cows are moved to graze on patches of fresh, pesticide-free grass every few days. This ensures that the cows are eating a nutrient-dense diet of seasonal forage and grasses.

We take great care in raising and producing healthy, humanely raised chickens and turkeys. Only fed GMO-free grains, they are moved frequently in portable shelters to fresh green grass. No antibiotics ever.

We ship throughout the U.S. and deliver to Northern VA, Tidewater, and Shenandoah Valley. We sell by the piece and in bulk. We also have an on-farm store with glass front freezers where you can shop in person and meet our friendly staff.

Be sure to follow us on facebook and subscribe to our e-newsletter. We have scheduled farm tours throughout the Summer. Go shopping online and if you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out. See & Taste the Difference.

KW Homestead is located in Stokes County, North Carolina. We raise delicious, pasture-raised, non-GMO Heritage Turkeys, Pekin Ducks, and Red Ranger Chickens. We also produce pasture-raised, non-GMO Duck Eggs. We also offer various Poultry CSAs, at a discount from out regular prices!

We take extra care to raise and harvest all of our animals humanely. When they're not eating wild native plants, grass, bugs, and other small creatures, our animal clan is fed sprouted grains and non-GMO feed from local farmers. We do not raise any of our animals with antibiotics or hormones (ever!) and all of our animals live their lives on pasture, free ranging throughout our property. The products we raise are ideal for people following Paleo or Weston A. Price diets.

KW stands for "Kuska Wiñasun," which means "Let's Grow Together" in Quechua, and that is exactly our philosophy when it comes to providing nutritious, healthy products for you and your family. We raise our birds from infancy through the day of their processing, and we complete all meat processing ourselves. We believe very strongly in this accountability, and in the seasons of our animals' life cycle.

We also believe very strongly in running a sustainable homestead and business and want you to know that none of the bird you purchase is wasted. While you purchase the meat, we use all of the remaining parts and nothing is discarded.
Nature and sustainability education is important to us, and we have various outlets for sharing our homestead life with the public: our blog, our Farm to Your School Program, and our Kids Wondering educational videos. In addition to raising poultry, we raise gourmet mushrooms and other tasty vegetables.

We currently sell our products at The Corner Farmer's Market in Greensboro, NC and deliver our products to customers at various NC Triad and Southern VA locations.

At Longbottom Farm, we specialize in grass-fed beef, pastured pork, pastured poultry, and free-range eggs. We are located just 25 minutes south of Charlottesville in Scottsville VA.

Knowing where the food we eat comes from is important to us. Like you, we wanted to know how the food we ate was produced, what chemicals were used, and how the animals were treated. The answer isn't readily available unless you know your farmer. This is what sets Longbottom Farm apart. Reconnecting people with the food we eat to the land and animals that produce it—something that's lost among today's current supermarket offerings.

We are raising healthy animals that are allowed to express their normal behaviors. They rotate through lush pastures, replenishing the land by using management techniques that mimic natural cycles. Following nature's lead and working with nature instead of against it. That's what Longbottom Farm is all about and why we love what we do!

If any of these values resonate with you, we would love to be your farmer! Allow us to provide you with some of the best tasting, nutrient-dense meat and eggs in central Virginia. We became the open, transparent farm we wanted to see. Let us be that farm for you.

Majesty Farm is a small, family-owned farm dedicated to providing fresh healthfully raised foods from a perspective of sustainable local agriculture. We have a herd of mixed beef and dairy cattle, and a herd of mixed dairy and meat goats. We also sell pastured lamb and hope to have milk sheep in the future.

All beef cattle, sheep and meat goats are solely on pasture that is free of pesticides and herbicides. They are also given free-choice kelp and Redmond mineral salts at all times, and hay in the winter. We use no hormone implants, fly control medicines, or routine vaccines or antibiotics. Our milk cows and milk goats are given a grain ration in the milking shed that consists of corn, oats, barley, alfalfa pellets, flax seed, sunflower seeds, distiller grain, probiotics, and yeast. We use predominately organic ingredients, although we do not have organic sunflower or barley available to us. All our milkers are soy-free, assisting in well-digested dairy products. We strive for quality over quantity.

In addition to our naturally raised pastured beef, we raise chevon (young goat) and provide our CSA supporters fresh raw dairy products and soaps made from chemical-free fats. Duck and chicken eggs, herbs, vegetables, and pastured poultry are available seasonally. Family milk goats, as well as pet goats and brush goats are also available. Our pastured beef is sold by the quarter, half, or whole beef, and our pastured chevon and lamb by the half or whole for delivery in June and October. There are openings at other times, call for availability. The meat is processed and dry-aged locally by a USDA-inspected, family-owned slaughterhouse.

We welcome scheduled visits to the farm, but as we are a working farm must discourage drop-bys.

Pannill's Gate Farm. Getting all of the nutritional value of grass fed beef is pretty simple—any cattle producer can do it. And you may have purchased some of this grass-fed beef before and been disappointed. Doing it right takes patience, knowledge, careful management and time.

With Pannill's Gate 100% Grassfed Beef, you get a taste to rival the flavor, tenderness and juiciness of grain-fed beef with the all the health benefits of grassfed beef. That's not to say that our beef tastes like grain-fed—it doesn't. Our grass-fed beef has the rich, clean flavor that beef is supposed to have.

Pink House Pigs is a small family farm where we raise purebred Tamworth and Tamworth crossbred pigs on pasture.

Tamworth is an old heritage breed that is long and lean and manages quite well living off the land with minimal help from the farmer. They are beautiful red pigs and make great crosses with other breeds because of their distant relation. Our crossbred pigs combine the leanness and hardiness of the Tamworth with the meatiness of other large traditional breeds.

Our pigs are free to graze in fields of clover and orchard grass, snooze in the shade of the woods, root, (nothing short of concrete stops them, and we have none of that) and just do what pigs do naturally. Piglets are naturally weaned. No growth hormones or routine antibiotics are used.

Pigs are available as feeder pigs (weaned piglets), or whole grown hogs for barbeques or your freezer etc. You may pick them up directly from the farm, or we can deliver to the butcher for you. We also have a variety of pork cuts and sausages available from the farm. Please call or email for availability and prices.

Polyface, Inc. is grassfarming guru Joel Salatin's family farm. Nestled in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, the farm was launched in 1961 by Joel's health-conscious parents. The family has never used chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides, making this one of the oldest environmentally friendly farms in the United States. Polyface has been the working model for many of the farms in this directory and has been featured on ABC News and in the Smithsonian magazine.

Four hundred families and numerous restaurants rely on Polyface for salad bar beef, eggs from free-ranging hens, ready-to-lay pullets, and pastured chickens, turkeys, rabbits and pigs. Some customers drive 300 miles round trip to pick up their products.

It may be inconvenient for customers to have to drive to the farm, but there's a hidden benefit: they get to see exactly how their food was raised. Children may benefit the most. According to Joel, "Kids enjoy seeing and petting the animals, romping in the fields, and learning firsthand who, what, where, when, why, and how their food was made."

The Sanders Farm is located in the foothills of Clinch Mountain in upper east Tennessee, close to neighboring Kentucky, Virginia and North Carolina. We have tended a small beef cow/calf herd at our family farm since 1979. We have kept our pasture and hayfields herbicide and pesticide-free for over 40 years. We use no antibiotics, pesticides or growth stimulants of any kind on any animal to be sold on Eatwild. Flies are kept under control with a walk-through fly trap and dustings of diatomaceous earth.

The calves I am selling eat only our own pasture and hay and their mother's milk. They free-range with their mothers and the rest of my closed herd until the day they are processed.

I prefer to sell my calves whole or by the half in the late Spring or in the Fall. Hanging weight for a whole beef is around 300 pounds (give or take 50 pounds) and take-home meat averages 200 pounds. I deliver your calf to a state-inspected butcher near Rogersville, TN and you pick up your frozen (vacuum-packed in plastic) meat there. You decide which cuts you want using a cut-list I will mail you. All the soup/stock bones and organs from your beef are also available to you.

My price, as of the spring of 2020, is $4.50 per pound of hanging weight and the butcher charges $.50 per pound based on hanging weight.

We would rather sell our beef calves to individuals who want untainted beef than into the feedlot industry where they live a little longer but in an unnatural and highly stressful way.

Sarver Heritage Farm is a 3rd generation beef farm on 250 acres of beautiful rolling hills in the Organ Cave area of WV.

This is a 'forever' farm, via the Farmland Protection Program. Basically, we're a couple of hermits who avoid bright lights and buzzwords, off in the highlands raising the best darn beef you'll ever taste. We're the first, and so far the only, AGA-Certified Producer Farm in West Virginia. Our farming practices are featured in an international agricultural magazine and two upcoming books devoted to artisanal beef. Our practices, animals and records are fully documented and audited annually by AGA; we're real, not buzz. We are what happens when you turn an artist/philosopher and a biology geek/animal lover loose with grandpa's cattle farm.

If you're looking for extremely lean grass fed beef—we can't help you. Our Angus/Galloway herd produces beautifully marbled, dry aged steaks from fully fat-covered carcasses. Food reviewers swoon over it. From the Artisan Beef Institute: "I'm in hamburger heaven." From Craig "Meathead" Goldwyn: "…the Platonic ideal of the modern steak.Sooooo beautifully beefy and best of all, balanced." Yes, it's that good. No, you can't get thirty pounds of Rib Eyes.

Nutrition testing data is on our website and our FB page, (yes, we care enough to have our own testing done), as is all the information folks try to convey or imply with buzzwords.

Our beef is USDA inspected and available by the cut at all HealthSmart Stores, The Alderson Food Hub, and through our Online Store. We offer Split Sides, Half, and Whole Beef from the farm only; prices based on hanging weight, pre-order/deposit required. Please see web site for details.

Other farm products:

  • Handcrafted Organic Soaps
  • Jams from our own pesticide/herbicide/fungicide-free fruit, cane sugar and pectin - and nothing else,
  • VERY limited quantities of poultry, raised Free Range on organic feed: Eggs, Capons, Fryers and 'Broilers,' Heritage Breed Turkeys.

Springhaven Farm raises pure registered Beef and Milking Devon using organic methods and permaculture practices. Rich and Linda Maurer own the land and have a vested interest in preserving what had been built. While not certified organic, we manage for the future and beyond sustainable in a system that continually improves.

Our beef is grass fed and grass finished only. Animals are calm, gentle, and handled in a humane, low stress manner from birth until they are either sold as breeding stock or as beef. We use pasture grown herbs to supplement the animals' diet and naturally worm the cattle. They are rotated to fresh pasture almost daily but without the unnatural high intensity, mob grazing that cramps animals into a tiny grazing cell. They are free to engage in natural cow behaviors.

We sell our beef and breeding stock direct to the public. We invite you to visit the farm and see how your food is truly produced and understand the differences between high production food and local, natural meat. Our web site details our farm and management methods.

Tucker Family Farms. Our "farm to family beef" is produced using the grass found here on our farm at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our farm is a recipient of the Chesapeake Bay Soil and Water Conservation Award and our family was named the National Beef Producer of the Year in 2000 by the Beef Improvement Federation. We are also certified by the Beef Quality Assurance Program.

The beef that you buy is backed by over 25 years of experience and a commitment to the care of our animals and the land. Careful breeding for traits such as muscle and marbling allow us to offer not only a product that is farm raised, but is superior in quality.

Fifty years ago family farms were prevalent in Virginia and most people either lived on or were one generation removed from a family farm. People knew who grew their vegetables, gathered their eggs, and raised their beef. There was a relationship between the family sitting down to eat a meal and the family who grew the meal. We at Tucker Family Farms want that back—not only for our family, but for the people who believe that how your food is produced matters. We hope that you will share that vision.

We also offer internships for those interested in learning more about a career in farming. We offer "A Day on the Farm" programs for an interactive experience on a cattle farm.

Please call us for more information.

Twisted Willow Farm is a regenerative farm in North Carolina. We focus on building healthy soil, growing grass without chemicals, carbon sequestering, and most importantly raising delicious livestock. We raise Dexter beef cattle, Berkshire hogs (pork), Cornish Cross chickens, and Broad Breasted turkeys.

Our farm is as close to nature as you can be inside a fence. We have spent several years testing different breeds and different farming methods and have achieved optimal flavor with minimal inputs. Our animals are rotated on pasture one behind the other to ensure parasites are controlled and soil is fertilized by the animals themselves. This allows for very little outside input. No medications, fertilizer, or other outside stimulation is necessary.

We love having visitors! We believe people should see where their food comes from.

Waverly Farms is a completely local, integrated, sustainable farm that raises pastured beef, poultry, eggs, goats (chevre), vegetables, herbs and berries.

We raise beef, goats, llamas and poultry exclusively in pasture with shelter, clean water, free access to our own hay, and minerals from organic or natural sources as available. Animals are rotated across 235 acres of lush Virginia pasture and forage woods according to a planned sequence that is most beneficial for the soil, pastures and animals. All pastures and animals are free of pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones, preventive antibiotics, preservatives and additives. As a result, we have beautiful, productive pastures and excellent tasting, rich, nutritious beef, poultry, eggs and chevre. We participate fully in conservation practices with Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District as well as the National Resource Conservation Services division of USDA. Our animals are harvested in our pasture and processed locally using only the most humane and respected procedures.

Our vegetables, herbs and berries are grown in gardens using our own composted goat, cattle and llama manure for fertilizer, supplemented with organic or natural fertilizers only when absolutely necessary. Organic and natural insecticides and fungicides are used only in extreme cases. Most insects are removed by hand. Weeds are pulled by hand or managed through cultivation only when absolutely necessary. Although we follow organic guidelines and practices, we are not Certified Organic.

Each year, we offer a limited number of vegetable+egg CSA shares and sell quarter, half, three-quarter or whole beef and goat shares "on hoof." Whole pastured chickens are coming soon. We assist customers in processing their meat into individual vacuum sealed, dated and weighted cuts that are freezer-ready and provide many months of fresh, clean beef and chevre that are always free of hormones, pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, preservatives and other additives.

CSA shares and beef are delivered directly to our customers who, along with their families and close friends, are invited to visit our farm anytime and encouraged to enjoy the farm during our Farm Days and other events.

We offer pasture-raised chicken, eggs, pork, turkey, duck and lamb. We also offer made-from-scratch bone broths, rendered animal fats, and dog treats.

Our products are available for sale here on the farm from our freezers, fresh in season by pre-order, at a couple farmers markets, and through neighboring CSAs. Whether you're looking for simple cuts or to purchase a whole/half animal to stock your larder, Weathertop Farm is here to supply your family with regenerative, nutrient-dense food.

Weathertop Farm is located on 62 acres in Floyd County, VA, a few miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and about a 30 to 40 minute drive from Roanoke, Christiansburg, or Blacksburg.

Wolf Creek Farm, located between Charlottesville and Culpeper Virginia, provides grass-fed, natural beef. Our mission is to create a sustainable farm that produces health and enjoyment for our livestock, our community, our customers, and ourselves. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we want to reconnect people to a more natural, wholesome, and healthy existence. We are seeking people from all walks of life who share our vision of how a farm should service its community and provide them with the ability to order natural products.

We selected cattle to be the mainstay of our farm due to our affinity with this truly gentle creature that has historically connected mankind with the natural world. Therefore, our beef is the way most people come to know us. Cattle are the centerpiece at Wolf Creek Farm, but we do offer several other grass farming based services and welcome friends and neighbors to come visit us.

As grass farmers, we steward the soil, woodlands, and riparian ways with only natural amendments and methods. As traditional animal husbandry men, we raise our herd with no force-fed hormones or antibiotics and commit to provide healthy and nutritious beef from our farm to your table. Our beef is processed at a USDA inspected artisanal abattoir, dry-aged and then flash frozen in vacuum packs. It is available for on-farm pick-up in quantities of: whole beeve, side, quarter, large box (eighth), or small box (twentieth). Delivery can be arranged within 50 miles of the farm for orders of a side or greater.

For more information please visit our website, or contact us by phone or e-mail. We are happy to answer your questions, take your order, and arrange your visit to the farm.
